I'm Tim Scott, born and raised in Austin, TX and I am an independent Austin mural artist with over 20 years of experience creating large scale murals and original artwork. Painting walls & canvases, drawing & filling sketchbooks, and creating art has always been part of how I engage with life and express myself.
The mural work I take on today, whether for a business, a public space, or a private home, comes from the same place. Inspiration comes from my surroundings, from conversations, from whatever is going on around me.
When I take on a project as an Austin mural artist, the priority is the artwork. Every mural is designed from scratch and built specifically for the space. I take each mural from initial sketches to completion.
I work in spray paint, acrylic, airbrush, and mixed media, creating everything from intimate interior feature walls to expansive exterior murals that stretch across entire buildings. The scale and themes may shift, but I want every piece to feel original.
Many of these murals and paintings have also been translated into original art t-shirts and artist designed merchandise that you can wear and collect.

Over the years, I've created custom murals throughout Austin and Central Texas for restaurants, musicians, music venues, retail spaces, offices, hospitality groups, public installations, and private residences. Each project is different, but the goal is always that the murals should feel like they belongs there and engages the viewer.
Sometimes that means a bold exterior mural that becomes part of the neighborhood or a landmark in the city. Sometimes it means an interior piece that enhances the atmosphere of a room or venue, or a focal point that pulls people in naturally.
As an Austin mural artist, I'm comfortable with the branding, visibility, weather, and contractor coordination side of the work too. Large-scale work requires planning. But I don't want the result to feel overproduced.
The artwork has to still look right years after it's painted.
